To see some more pictures of her sweetness eating her cake(s), you can click here on my flickr.T helped me to make a cake from scratch for baby S, and we found this great recipe from a friend. until last night.
Last week I taught baby S to throw her own diapers away. She was on board, thought it was great fun! I bragged to Chris, “See her doing her first ‘chore’! She’s such a big girl!” as she marched from our bedroom, down the hallway and into the kitchen with her diaper in hand, excited to “throw away the diaper”… Then, last night, N caught her red-handed. She had lifted the lid on the trash can (hey, I didn’t teach her that part… not on purpose anyways, but apparently she was watching) and was about to throw the tv remote control away! LOL Yeah, so, not so cute anymore… Do you think she’s trying to tell us something (besides check the trash before we take it out?)?

…in which I shall parallel post with Birdie, who does so often seem to exist in a universe parallel to my own…
This time, Birdie wrote a wonderfully insightful post here about spiritual sleepwalking. It’s deceptively short and sweet, encompassing so very much more than is apparent at first glance, so much of what I myself have been going through, but at a loss of words for… and partly why I haven’t blogged much lately (besides when I’m not just way busy). I guess that I can just relate to her post there on so many levels right now that I thought I ought to go ahead and post about it. Birdie, you’ve inspired me with words, which I’ve been so short of lately, hope that you don’t mind my hi-jacking your thoughts and running with them.
…sleepwalking, naturally momma.
First, on being up throughout the night with Baby S… and feeling like […]

Baby S is growing by leaps and bounds, staying busy and keeping us all laughing out loud, a lot! We are all enjoying musing over her inquisitiveness, loving ways, and sweet temperament. I am truly doing my best to cherish every single moment, so thankful for this blessing of her. I can hardly believe that she’ll be a year old next month!
Some of her latest tricks are:
Walking backwards, which she’s noticed that we think is absolutely hilarious, and so she laughs while she does this now.
Blowing kisses, only she does it with the back of her hand.
Dancing (fancy footwork- stamping up and down - like marching in place really fast, or bouncing at the knees) anytime she hears music that she likes, or when we chant, “dance, dance-dance-dance… dance!” to her. Chris started that. She’ll also throw her arms up a lot.
Giving hugs and lots of kisses.
Turning the light on […]

She loves biting into stuff with her four new teeth now, two on top and two on bottom, perfect for munching strawberries and crunching cheerios (which she picks up with her wee little fingers and bites in half to eat). Who knew eating could be so much fun?!

Last week baby S, at 9 months and 3 days of age, took her first THREE unassisted steps, with only a little prompting from Dad to “come here”, as he kneeled down in front of her. It was so exciting, and I surprised myself with a squeal! Oh, our baby can’t be walking already?! Yes, we’ve certainly suspected that she’d definitely be our earliest walker, with the way she walks all around the house behind her push-along walker toy, and has been pulling herself up to standing alone before she even started crawling (gleefully clapping her hands for herself, knowing exactly what she’s doing), and walking all around the coffee table and dining room chairs holding on.
And all last week she practiced… Now she’s taking 10+ steps from here to there regularly, and lots of crawling on her feet, with her rump up in the air. It’s too funny. She’s […]

…in which I will actually write a real post! Or attempt to anyways…
Blogging, oh yeah, that’s where I have some time to myself, or not, (without a napping/nursing baby in my arms) wherein I sit, reflect and write out my thoughts (because both of my hands are free, or not) in some semblance of a coherent fashion (because I can, I really, really can. still… right? maybe? …or not). Time to myself… heh, what is that?
So, where have I been lately, since I certainly haven’t blogged much? Okay, let me just say that our precious little 9 month old baby girl is a handful, that rarely ever sleeps during daylight hours. Seriously! Now this makes for wonderfully restful nights full of slumber and quiet, for the most part anyways. Besides a few nights these last two weeks that is, as she’s been cutting in her first four teeth all […]

We fed baby S her first bites of cereal a few weeks ago, a few days before she turned six months old. She was certainly ready, and loved it! Up until this week she’s only been eating cereal once a day, but I’ve just now started feeding her solids in the mornings as well as in the evenings sometimes too… so far she’s tried pureed plums, bananas, peaches and even a bit of oat cereal, but mostly just rice cereal.
Home-made Organic Brown Rice Baby Cereal
To make her baby cereal, I’ve just been putting organic short grain brown rice (which we order in bulk from here, much cheaper than HFS) through my Wonder Mill, and it comes out very finely ground, basicly as rice flour (which I keep in the freezer).
Then I pour about 4 oz. (I was only using 2-3 oz. a month ago- she’s eating more now) of either […]

Our journey down picture book lane with old and new friends. Here’s baby S reading to Bub, Bub reading to baby S, one of her favorites… see how she’s grabbing at it? I kid you not when I tell you that she likes to turn the pages and study the pictures intently already! What fun we shall have introducing our baby girl to so many wonderful books. She loves to chew on good literature already, literally!

Remember these miracle babies?
Well, here they are about a month ago (or two?!) now… cute as can be!
Babies S & V
Isn’t our heavenly Father just amazing? I squeeze this girl and thank Him for her, N and T every day. I can hardly believe that baby V has a tooth already and is already tasting new foods! Baby S has quite a few new tricks lately too… let’s see, where to start? She seems to be changing so much every day!
She loves to grab her feet and try to stick them in her mouth, along with everything else. She’s gotten very good at picking things up and then retrieving them once she’s dropped them. She reaches out to touch everything now. She is noticeably interested in her board books, grabs the pages and turns them (well it seems like she’s turning them anyways! and stares intently at the […]

spun by heaven from silken strands…
of the same gossamer threads God uses to weave the butterflies’ wings,
that they may carry with them summer’s warmth…
and with it, drape autumn’s retiring fields…
Yes, she wears a golden crown,
atop her tiny head
like her brother~
I just love this color…

Today Yesterday Tuesday (that’s how long it’s taken me to get this ONE post written- granted it is long, but that’s what happens when things keep piling up that I want to write about) was N and T’s last riding lesson of the season, and I am so ready for the break. It’s one less place that I’ll be taking them each week, until they start their lessons back up in the Spring. Their riding instructor takes the colder months off from teaching, but I’m sure that the kids will still get to go over to her house a few times to ride and visit with her and the ponies and horses that they love so much- just for fun, so long as its not too miserably cold outside. T sure won’t be missing the hours of barn chores that they do each week to pay for their lessons, […]

On Sept. 15, during the Days of Awe, we dedicated and blessed our baby S during our Messianic fellowship’s Shabbat service, under the chuppah, which is actually a tallit (prayer shawl) right after we all sang the Sabbath Prayer of blessings over our children (the same one sang in The Fiddler on the Roof, beautiful!).
[MOTHERS AND FATHERS]
May the Lord protect and defend you.
May He always shield you from shame.
May you come to be
In Israel a shining name.
May you be like Ruth and like Esther.
May you be deserving of praise.
Strengthen them, Oh Lord,
And keep them from the strangers’ ways.
May God bless you and grant you long lives.
(May the Lord fulfill our Sabbath prayer for you.)
May God make you good mothers and wives.
(May He send you husbands who will care for you.)
May the Lord protect and defend you.
May the Lord preserve you from pain.
Favor them, […]

Hello!! Yes, I’m still around, and no I haven’t forgotten all of my friends that keep up with us here, though I have been a bit pre-occupied these days with everything else besides being on the computer! I suppose that’s as it should be here lately though, and to be expected with all that’s going on. However, I’m feeling bloggish this evening, and so have decided to ignore all that’s left yet undone for today, since I’d much rather sit here to play write and read a bit while baby S is asleep.
If this blog is going to survive this new season of my life, I’m thinking that I need to get better about writing little sporadic posts here and there, huh? Okay, I’ll try…
Baby Love~ the latest…
Baby S is growing beautifully.
I find myself calling her “milk-lips”, “my little love” or “sweetness”> Chris calls her “Peepers”, and her song […]

… and she’s really real, and she’s ours, to keep! ! We’ve all been marveling over her, so full of joy to receive her! The child that we’ve hoped and prayed for, for so very long is now filling our home with new life and precious moments.
Yes, our darling baby girl, Savannah Abigail, was born on Tuesday, the 21st (came on her actual due date even!), at 1:03 p.m., weighing 8lbs. & .5 oz. and measuring 21.5″ long. Her hair (or peach-fuzz) is strawberry blonde, leaning more towards the strawberry part… wondering if we’re going to have another red head around here?!
She was delivered naturally and my hospital experience was a good one, had wonderful nurses and a great doc. I’ll write more about it later, but just wanted to take a moment to quickly let you all know, and upload some pics… I’d hoped to share sooner, but haven’t […]

Well, last night I had a few real crampy contractions, and this morning found that I had spotted during the night… I continued to have spotting this morning, along with some more intermittent contractions, which are now, this evening, getting much stronger and more consistent. I took the kids to a local park today, figured it’d give me a chance to walk around, keep busy and there was a big homeschool group meeting there from one of the co-ops we’re joining this year, so it was nice to be there and meet some more Moms. Then I came home and did the laundry, straightened the house a bit, just keeping busy.
So, I’m getting excited now, hoping, hoping! She’s due tomorrow, wouldn’t it be a hoot if she came on her actual due-date?! I know, I know… even with the spotting, actual labor could still be a week away, […]

I sure haven’t blogged in awhile, have I? We’re doing well over here. I’ve been either really busy, or tired or just plain lazy. It’s hard for me to sit here at the ‘puter chair for long now, since I get a kink in my back and all stiff if I’m in any position for too long now. So, I’ve not been on the MAC much at all in the last few weeks, which has been nice. I’m just so thankful that I haven’t had any pains like this until here recently! Can you believe that we only have ONE week to go now, until that magic date anyways (DD is 8/21), for what it’s worth. heh! (Oh, please don’t wait any longer than that Savannah dear…) Yeah, I’ve found myself talking to her a lot lately, we all are.
And so, I’ve been doing my best to […]

Welp, no fruit smoothie this morning… but worry not, it’s not for lack of supply of my beloved Stonyfield yogurt (the scratch ‘n dent came through, I’m re-stocked!), and our freezer is full of frozen blackberries too, picked fresh by Chris and the kids from local fields. Nope, I just opted for the hard stuff this morning, yep, that’s right, coffee! Mmmmm… it’s a rare treat these days. Since I’ve been pregnant, I only have it once a week or so, if that, and that only since mid-second-trimester. But this last week I’ve been having some major headaches, and this morning I really need an extra boost to get goin’, get some more stuff done around here!
I haven’t been on the ‘puter much lately. Besides being busy with doing stuff around here, last Thursday evening I came down with the worst migraine I’ve had in YEARS! By Friday morning I […]

…of all the things that I/we want to get accomplished before baby Savannah arrives on the scene. Yes, I’ve plenty of stuff to keep me busy until she’s here. No time for pining away… (only 7 more weeks!!! until she’s due, but maybe she’ll be a few days early, maybe not?) Chris (the listmaker) had already started his list, and one for me- per my request, on paper, but I thought it would be good to type it out and have on hand in readable form *heh!*, so I’m posting it.
No, we’re not stressing over this stuff, but we sure are putting forth our best efforts to accomplish it!
My List:
Paint and touch up all interior trim, chair-railing and doors (all semi-gloss white). Have been working on this one, slow going it seems.
Put up decorative border in hallway, beneath chair-railing.
Hang some more pictures once painting is done.
Put out misc. clutter piles […]

As I’d shared earlier in my last baby stuff update, I’m trying to decide upon which type of baby carrier to buy for our little Savannah girl. I was laughing to myself this morning when I considered that though this will be my first time using a baby carrier, it won’t by my first experience in wearing our babies. Nope, I remember wearing T everywhere, on my hip, and how my right arm and shoulder would end up hurting like crazy, from being in that same holding position for an hour or two at a time. My lower back suffered as well, from having my hip cocked out half the time for her to sit on, esp. the bigger she got… not very practical, but she was happy, and it was just what came naturally, to hold her and carry her around with me. So, needless to say, this […]
