I’ve been caught on video!

(Again, I’m sorry, non-HK people!)
The day after I posted my last update, I received a reply from the HK admin team. I’m sad to report that it was full of accusations that either don’t make sense, are false, or are misplaced (i.e., someone else did something, but the admin team is blaming me for it). I replied to them a month ago and have not heard back. I guess I won’t, and this will have to go unresolved.
In the meantime, I have continued to receive questions from people. It hasn’t been plaguing my thoughts too terribly much (after all, I’ve been through an illness, a 2-week period where my husband was in Hawaii, Saipan, and Guam, a week-long visit from my parents, and a severe hard drive crash), so I keep forgetting to blog about it. But I’m actually remembering this morning LOL!
1. Why […]

BACK UP YOUR HARD DRIVE ON A REGULAR BASIS.
My hard drive on my laptop died. Clicking noises are NOT GOOD.
I last backed up my homeschool and financial records on April 5. I last backed up pictures, ALL financial stuff, ALL homeschool stuff, etc. on December 1. Sigh.
A computer man is attempting to retrieve my data. We shall see. Please pray!

I received a response from the HK admins, and I have replied to it. I am still hoping to resolve this matter privately. Please keep praying for a biblical resolution.

I am anxiously awaiting getting to discuss matters with the HK admins. So far none have joined my yahoo group. Possibly some of you could encourage them????
I just would like to know what is going on. I’m clueless.

More has transpired, from what I have heard. I still have yet to know what is fully going on. So Carla and I have started a private Yahoo group, to try to discuss this in a biblical manner with the admins. We have invited the admins to join us there.
ETA: Pass the word and keep checking for more information.

The Lord has convicted me of my use of my private message box. While most of my private messages were about goofy things like school and such, some of them in the past were inappropriate about other members if I was frustrated about something. I HATE that I am not able to e-mail you personally and apologize and ask forgiveness. However, my memory is shot (see my “answers” post below LOL), and I truly do not remember what all I said about whom. Nor do I have e-mail addresses handy.
I am not able to access my account, however, so I cannot go in and see what all I’ve said. So this post is my best attempt at apologizing.
Please forgive me. I was wrong and should have guarded my thoughts and “tongue” (fingers) better.
ETA: Please see this post as well: http://razorbackmama.homeschooljournal.net/2008/04/14/to-my-hk-sisters/

Ones that are actually ATTRACTIVE???????
These are CUTE.
Far too many times the modest swimwear I’ve seen are actually IMmodest since they draw an insane amount of attention to the wearer. But these are just super, SUPER cute!!!!!

Next Friday! And the movers will deliver our goods on Saturday. WOOHOO!!!!!
It’s been a while since I updated y’all on the housing situation, so here goes:
House that was so awesome ended up STILL not being available. Whatever. We looked at another one that my dad had looked at for us forever ago. It is plenty big and in decent shape (the inspection actually PASSED). It’s a tad older though, and it’s just been neglected somewhat. So it needs work. We got a GREAT deal on it. The people who live in it now homeschool too - how neat is that?
We’ll be redoing almost everything in the house. The only thing I can think of that we won’t be changing is the fireplace LOL! Water heater, kitchen, floors, windows, you name it! Dh’s job will be reimbursing us for our closing costs, so that will be our “fun money” to put […]

We can just go “hang out” at my dad’s. Or he can come hang out at our house (when we get one ). Or we can go hang out at my sister and brother-in-law’s. Or they can come hang out at our house. It’s going to be so much fun having my kids get to know them all better and better (and vice versa!).

I’m thinking you may have missed the point of my Pottersville post. I do feel sorry for the people who have been lied to by dishonest real estate agents and greedy banks. The person who is currently under contract (sort of) should never have been approved for a loan to begin with. I will not share their details on my since it’s not our situation, but yes, part of the blame is on all the banks involved.
That is the point of my post. The banks screwed up and loaned money to people who couldn’t afford it. My dad has even said that he suspects that many of the people who are being foreclosed upon couldn’t speak English and had been taken advantage of by unscrupulous agents. And now on THIS side of the mess, the banks are overwhelmed and/or dragging their feet somewhat, so for just the “regular folks,” we […]

The structural inspection was very interesting. There are 2 long walls and 2 short walls in the basement. The one long wall has bowed in about 3″. It appears to have been fixed. I say “appears” because when the engineer tried to get the records on the repair from the county, there were none. So whoever fixed it did not pull a permit. So there is no way to tell who fixed it, when they fixed it, or if they fixed it properly. The other long wall has bowed in about 2″. It has not been fixed. It needs to be fixed. To the tune of about $10-20K.
This came as a total shock to the sellers. We are still not sure just how they came to own the house, but from what we can see on the property history, they didn’t actually buy it outright and get a warranty deed […]

Short update:
House #2 came back on the market while we were waiting on house #3. So we offered, they countered, we accepted.
We arrived in Colorado on Christmas Day.
Today was the home inspection. All was well until the inspector got to the basement. He found lots of cracks in the walls. One wall has even been bolted somehow to fix it. A window has broken from the pressure. Sigh. So we requested a structural inspection, which should happen tomorrow. We’ve put the delivery of our goods on hold (should have happened this coming Monday). If all goes well and the inspector certifies that it’s OK, then we’ll go ahead and take it. If not….BIG SIGH.
Meanwhile, here we are in a hotel. We’re gonna start looking at rentals tomorrow morning, I think.

House #1 that we looked at was in the process of being foreclosed on, and it had been approved for a short sale. We knew that it would take a little longer than an individually-owned home to get a response to an offer. Well, we never did hear anything, and a week later we were told that ***IF*** they would respond to us at all, it would be a few more days even. ***IF*** And then we found out that the bank has decided to not take less than $23,000 more than our offer, PERIOD. Even if it takes them 2 years to sell the house, they said.
Our 3rd choice house (and actually it’s our first choice, but we made an offer on it 3rd) is lender-owned totally. It is currently in an on again/off again contract with someone with horrible credit. His financing keeps falling through, and the owning […]

Still no house in Colorado. HOPEFULLY we’ll hear something tomorrow????????
We signed the papers on our house here yesterday. The “sign man” came by to remove the For Sale sign today.
The movers came today to start packing. They are scheduled to pack today, tomorrow, and Thursday. They are well over half done…I’m not sure just what they will do Thursday LOL! They packed up our cooking utensils, so I guess the fun has begun with eating out for every meal. They will load the truck on Friday, and then we will leave town Saturday.
Tomorrow is the kids’ last night of AWANA. They are sad about having to leave, but we will look for a new AWANA club for them to join once we get there! Sunday was our last day at church, which was very bittersweet. Our pastor had our family come forward before the service so […]

You know how when there is a flood in an area, there is water all over the place, but it’s not drinkable? That is how dh and I feel right now.
Last week we went to Colorado to look for a house to buy. There are houses EVERYWHERE there, and we had quite a good short list. We looked at 18 houses in the first 3 days. Then we chose our top 5 and looked at them again. We then chose our top 2.
#1 house was great. It was large enough for what we need. It was only 11 miles from dh’s new office. But the price was a bit high, based on this formula I’d come up with to calculate the maximum price we could afford based on how many miles away from dh’s office it was. (Yes, I realize I am a total nerd. What can I say? […]

I booked mil’s plane ticket yesterday to fly out this coming Sunday, so she can keep the older 5 kiddos for us. Then Monday morning dh and I fly to Colorado to look for a house. WOOHOO!!! We’ll come back Friday evening, and then mil will fly back the next Sunday. We are taking Little Bit since she is exclusively nursing. I told the older kids that WHOA, she’ll get to fly on a real plane before they do LOL!!!
We’ve been looking at lots of houses online, and my dad (our real estate agent) has been able to preview some and narrow down the list. We’ve found a couple of good potentials, so we just need to check them out and check out the commute.
We’re anticipating getting to move around the first of the year.

We received the other offer this evening. It’s even better than the first one. YAY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once we can read the whole thing (there were some technical difficulties ROFLOL), we will most likely accept. We just might get to move to CO by the first of the year!

No time, so I’ll condense LOL.
Dh got a promotion. We are moving to Colorado. We found out yesterday. They’d LIKE us to be there by Dec. 2. Don’t know if we’ll be able to do that since it’s less than 8 weeks away, but we sure are praying!!! Now to sell our house, find one there, and GET there!
I’m so proud of my hubby!

My phone company has an online chat feature through which you can contact customer service. I am trying to use that feature since the baby is asleep next to me on the couch.
I am on HOLD. On chat!!!

The answer is yes.
Yesterday my dh was standing out by our side gate. He heard a little “pop” and thought, “What in the world was that?” And then he saw our next-door neighbor’s very tall, but dead, pine tree falling.
Check out how close it came to the other neighbor’s truck.
That neighbor’s 16yo looked like this: as he was inspecting the truck afterward. I don’t blame him one bit!
I thought I was just being nosy taking these pictures. As it turns out, our next-door neighbor didn’t get pictures in time, so I guess my nosiness will actually help them some.

I saw some fast food commercial the other day advertising how large their popcorn chicken is.
That got me to wondering.
At what point does a large popcorn chicken become a chicken nugget?
Deep thoughts, my friends. Deep thoughts.
